Peng Yi

Peng Yi is a Ph.D. student at Uppsala Universitet. He is interested in modelling water exchange, pollution and climate change in the Baltic Sea by using anthropogenic 129I, 99Tc and 14C isotopes. The relatively large gradients (100-1000 times) in the 129I and 99 Tc, between the Skagerrak-North Sea waters within the surface and bottom waters of the Baltic Sea will provide vital information about even minute water exchange in the system. Together with information from sediments, the data will link the effects of natural and anthropogenic process both in a retrospective view and during future changes of the ecosystem.
